The FIRST BANK building which houses the RCGS library, has had a portion of the roof cave in. This happened on the third floor IN THE HALLWAY. It is my understanding that the books and papers of RCGS have not been damaged, but we do not know this for sure.
NO ONE can ENTER the building and this closing might last for up to six weeks Before coming to Chester to go to RCGS library, please call and ask if the building has been re-opened. Call 618-826-4169 or 618-826-5334.

Visit The Misselhorn Art Gallery
Housed in the restored Gulf, Mobile and Ohio depot, constructed in 1907, the Misselhorn Gallery is the home of over 2000 original drawings, paintings, woodcuts, cartoons, and graphic work by the late Roscoe Misselhorn
The depot features display galleries for guest artists, a gift shop with prints, books, and other items - and is itself of interest to railroad buffs and fans of the 1967 Academy Award winning film "In The Heat Of The Night".

Meetings are the second Tuesday of each month at the Randolph County Genealogical Societies office, unless otherwise specified. Meeting are at 6:00 PM
