Both the 1884 History of Cumberland, Jasper, and Richland County, Illinois AND the 1909 volume of Biographical and Reminiscent History of Richland, Clay, and Marion County are available on this site. Both volumes of material are saved in Adobe PDF format, and complete copies, from the title page to the index. If you do not have Adobe Reader, you can download the free version HERE. Richland County Court House Olney, IL. The current Richland county court house is the fourth courthouse to be erected in Olney, the county seat. The previous court house was destroyed by fire in 1913. This drawing of the court house was done by Dr. B. Baird Smith and is reproduced here with permission of the Richland County Genealogical & Historical Society.   Richland county was formed in 1841 from Clay and Lawrence counties.
