In the matter of the inquisition on the body of John B. Keaster deceased, held at Stone Fort on the 16th day of November 1914. We, the undersigned, Jurors, sworn to inquire of the death of John B. In the matter of the inquisition oon the body of James Wollard deceased, held at Raleigh on the 9th day of November 1914. We, the undersigned, Jurors, sworn to inquire of the death of Jas. EVA LEONA DUNN
In the matter of the inquisition on the body of Eva Leona Dunn deceased, held at Dorrisville on the 28th day of October 1914. We, the undersigned, Jurors, sworn to inquire of the death of Eva Leona Dunn on oath do find that he (?) came to his (?) death by burning, having caught fire from the grate fire while attempting to wind a clock sitting on the mantle. JAMES KOVACK
In the matter of the inquisition on the body of James Kovack deceased, held at Eldorado, Ill., on the twenty fifth day of October 1914. We, the undersigned, Jurors, sworn to inquire of the death of James Kovack on oath do find that he came to his death by gun shot wound from the hands of Steve Kasza, Mike Fodor and George Haydo and we recommend that they the said Steve Kasza, Mike Fodor and George Haydo be held in custody awaiting the action of the grand jury. W. P. McFARLAN
In the matter of the inquisition on the body of W. P. McFarlan deceased, held at Harrisburg, on the 12th day of October 1914. We, the undersigned, Jurors, sworn to inquire of the death of W. P. McFarlan on oath do find that he came to his death by morphine poisoning with suicide intent. J. S. Ferguson, foreman, S. B. Boulden, H. B. Barter, Hes Holland, W. T. Turner.


PERRY J. AUSTIN
In the matter of the inquisition on the body of Perry J. Austin, deceased, held at Carrer Mills on the 4th day of October 1914. We, the undersigned, Jurors, sworn to inquire of the death of P. J. Austin on oath do find that he came to his death by violence at the hands of Raymond Manley (?) by a blow on the head with a ruck-yoke on the 3rd day of October 1914, from which he Perry J. Austin died on the 4th day of October 1914. We further recommend that he the said Raymond Manley be held without bail to await the action of the grand jury. Geo. B. Dodds, foreman, M. S. WILLIAM H. PANKEY
In the matter of the inquisition on the body of William H. Pankey, deceased, held at Carrier Mills on the 7th day of October 1914. LOGAN LEAVELL
In the matter of the inquisition on the body of Logan Leavell deceased, held at Harrisburg, Ill., on the 19th day of June 1917. We, the undersigned, Jurors, sworn to inquire into the death of Logan Leavell on oath do find that he came to his death by a gun shot wound in the hands of Ben Grimes acting in self defence and we recommend that he be released. MARGARET LUCILE OGLESBY
In the matter of the inquisition on the body of Margaret Lucile Oglesby deceased, held at Eldorado, IL, on the ninth day of December 1916. BEATRICE JOHNSON
In the matter of the inquisition on the body of Beatrice Johnson deceased, held at West New Hope on the 16th day of December 1916. We, the undersigned, Jurors, sworn to inquire of the death of Beatrice Johnson on oath do find that she came to her death by being burned by fire caught from grate (accidental). Chas. ELMER DEATON
In the matter o the inquisition on the body of Elmer Deaton deceased, held at Harrisburg, on the 18th day of December 1916. We, the undersigned, Jurors, sworn to inquire of the death of Elmer Deaton on oath do find that he came to his death by beng crushd by runaway loaded car starting from No. 2 room on 10 east entry which was loaded by Jim Russell Dec. 18, 1916, at Saline County Caol Mine #3 Harrisburg, Ill. JOHN MAT ROSE
In the matter of the inquisition on the body of John Mat Rose deceased, held at Ledford, Ill., on the 19th day of December 1916. We, the undersigned, Jurors, sworn to inquire of the death of John Mat Rose on oath do find that he came to his death by wound inflicted in his head from some unknown cause. F. L. ARTHUR VINSON
In the matter of the inquisition on the body of Arthur Vinson deceased, held at Harrisburg, Ill., on the 22nd day of December 1916. We, the undersigned, Jurors, sworn to inquire of the death of Arthur Vinson on oath do find that he came to his death by a pistol shot in the hands of George Walls, and recommend that he be committed to jail without bail. FRANK GRIMMES
In the matter of the inquisition on the body of Frank Grimmes deceased, held at Harrisburg, Il., on the 23rd day of Decembe 1916. We, the undersigned, Jurors, sworn to inquire of the death of Frank Grimmes on oath do find that he came to his death by being caught between a loaded it car of coal and the ribb or pillor of coal and crusing his head. VENT FUGETT
In the matter of the inquisition on the body of Vent Fugett, deceased, held at Harrisburg, IL., on the 18th day of January 1917. We, the undersigned, Jurors, sworn to inquire of the death of Vent Fugett on oath do find that he came to his death by being electrocuted with a trolley wire in O'Gara Mine No. 3 on Main East Entry the wire being pulled down by a runaway mule and the wire catching him between the wire and motor which he was riding on. JOHN ESTES
In the matter of the inquisition on the body of John Estes, deceased, held at Eldorado, IL, on the 16th day of January 1917. We, the undersigned, Jurors, sworn to inquie of the death of John Estes on oath do find that he came to his death by coming in contact with the naked live wire and dead wire in Seagraves Mine on Jan. 13th, 1917. WINCHESTER P. SISNEY
In the matter of the inquisition on the body of Winchester P. Sisney deceased, held at Raleigh, on the 31st day of January 1917. We, the undersigned, Jurors, sworn to inquire of the death of Winchester P. Sisney on oath do find that he came to his death by unknown cause, probably due from heart failure. Walter L. EARNEST BATTY
Eldorado, IL., February 26, 1917. We the jury impannelled at the inquest over the dead body of Ernest Batty to inquire into the ause of his death do hereby find that deceased came to his death by being kicked by the mule & run over by the car on the straight South Entry at O'Gara #11 miine in Eldorado, IL. J. E. Bramlet, foreman, E. R. Martin, W. S. Cunningham, Dan M. Kellog, Frank Wright, W. A. Joyce.


JOHN ENDICOTT
Whereas, a jury this day sworn before me, according to law, to inquire of the death of John Endicott did, by their verdict, fond one Edd Odum to be the unlawful slayer of him, the said John Endicott. You are, therefore, in the name and by the authority of said people, hereby commanded to receive the said Edd Odum into the county jail of said county (Saline) and him there safely keep, to be dealth with according to law. Hereof fail not. Given under my hand and seal, at Harrisburg, Ill., this 27th day of January 1919. F. H. Ozment, coroner of Saline County.


MARY WARD
In the matter of the inquisition on the body of Mary Ward deceased, held at Ledford, Ill, on the 21st day of September 1919. We, the undersigned, Jurors, sworn to inquire of the death of Mary Ward on oath do find that she came to her death by unknown cause probably due from lifting a tub of water while washing clothes. MARY WARD
Evidence of Laura Ward in the matter of the inquest held at Ledford, Ill, on the 21st day of Septemer 1919, on the body of Mary Ward by F. H. Ozment, Coronor of Saline County, Illinois. Laura Ward after first being duly sworn, testifies as follows: My name is Laura Ward, my age is 18 years old. I reside at Mitchellsville, Ill., my occupation is housework. I come to Herman Mullinx September 6th 1919. I come to stay with Mrs. Mullinx while Herman was gone. My husband and I are not living together. It has been 3 weeks since I seen him. I don't know the cause of the death of the baby without is was lifting a kettle of water or tub of clothes. I was in good health before that time. To my account the baby was 6 months old at the time of birth. Signed Laura Ward.

MARY WARD
Evidence of Ethel Mullinx in the matter of the inquest held at Ledford, Ill, on the 21st day of September 1919, on the body of Mary Ward, by F. H. Ozment, Coroner of Saline County, Illinois. Ethel Mullinx first beind duly sworn, testifies as follows: My name is Ethel Mellinx, my age is 26. I reside at Ledford, my occupation is housework. Mrs. Ward has been at my house since 6th of September 1919. She was in good health and she taken since September 20th about 1 a.m. I don't know what cause her to be sick with out it was caused by washing and lifting a tub at Mrs. Herman Benn____. she had complained some that day about her back a paining her. Also she sew some that day on a machine. signed Ethel Mullinix.


PAT MURPHY
In the matter of the Inquisition on the body of Pat Murphy deceased, held at Ledford, Saline Co., Ill., on the 3rd day of June A. D. 1901. We, the undersigned, Jurors, sworn to inquire of the death of Pat Murphy on oath do find that he came to his death by accident through Bank Manager Phillip Macke's negligence as understood by the Law and Evidence. JOSEPH A IRIVN (?)
Ledford, Ill, June 29, 1901. We the jury find that the deceased Joseph A. Irvin, came to hes death by accidental falling of timber. H. D. Bugarner, foreman, T. W. Griahsm, Clk., Geo. E. Stiff, John W. Ballance, E. H. Vance, W. A. Cramer.


JOHN E. TRAVIS
We, the jury sworn and empannelled according to law to inquire into the cause of death of John E. Travis, find that the said deceased came to his death at Ledford, Saline County, Illinois, Nov. 23, 1901, as a result of a gun shot wound in the head, at the hands of one William A. Luster, and we find the said William A. Luster to be the unlawful slayer of the said John E. Travis. Dated this November 24, 1901. H. D. Bumgarner, foreman, W. T. Pemberton, Hugh Gregg,  S. E. ISAAC PORTER
In the matter of the inquest over the dead body of one Isaac Porter beginning on the 17th day of May 1902, and ending on the 18th day of May A. D. 1902: We, the jury find that the deceased Isaac Porter came to his death as a result of a pistol shot wound in the left breast at the hands of one Henry Landers and we further find that the said Henry Landes is crimanally liable for the death of the said Isaac Porter, and we recommend that he be apprehended and held for trial. ROBERT REYNOLDS
We, the jury, impannelled to inquire into the cause of death of Robert Reynolds, deceased, hereby find that the deceased came to his death as a result of a pistol (gun) shot wound in the breast at the hands of Bert Taborn. We further find that Bert Taborn and Kim Taborn, and Frank Powell are criminally responsible for the death of the said Robert Reynolds, and we recommend that they be aprehended and held for murder. THOS. GREEN HARPER
Harrisburg, Ill., July 30, 1902. In the matter if the inquisition upon the body of Thos. Green Harper we the jury after first being duly sworn, do find from the evidence presented that Thos. Green Harper came to his death near Harrisburg, Ill., on July 30, A. D. 1902, from a gun shot wound and that the shot was fired by the said Thos. Green Harper. J. H. Rice, Chas. McCreary, W. S. Weaver, M. D. Renshaw, James M. Shaw, F. M. Lemons.


JOHN BUSH
November 18, 1902, Harrisburg, Il. We the jury find that John Bush came to his death from a fall in shaft of New Coal Co. on Nov. 17, 1902. Cause unknown. Lewis Boatright, foreman, Farris Wheeler, clerk, Chas. V. Parker, G. W. Perkins, Will Johnson, Will Wilgus.


JOHN SHEA
In the matter of the inquisition upon the body of John Shea, dec'd. We the undersigned jury empannelled and sworn to inquire into the cause of death of John Shea from the evidence and examination of the premices we find that he came to his death in the Saline County coal mines on Feb. 14, 1903 by a piece of slate or rock falling upon him, which was accidental and unavoidable. ANJALINE RICHEY
We the jury find that the cause of death of Anjaline Richey was the paralysis o the heart at about 2:30 March the 3rd, 1903 W. T. Bixler, B. T. Gastons, A. H. King, H. C. Billingsley, J. E. Goss, N. E. Gourley, S. W. Latham.


TILLMAN RILEY and AL KING
We the jury empaneled find that Tillman Richey and Al King came to their death by being struck by an engine train No. 416 on the Big 4 R.R. on the night of Oct. 10, 1903. J. J. Pickett, Harry Taylor, C. C. Wilson, C. C. Skelton, Jas. H. Pearce, W. T. Pemberton.


WILLIAM E. RHINE
In the matter of the inquisition over the dead body of William E. Rhine deceased, we, the jury, find that the deceased came to his death as a result of four knife wounds in the body of the said William E. Rhine at the hands of Fay Upchurch and we further find that the said Fay Upchurch is criminally responsible for his death and we recommend that the said Fay Upchurch be apprehended and held for murder. Dated this 29th day of October A. D. 1903. A. J. Tison, foreman, John Johnson, John R. Coffee, J. A. Quick, J. W. Pilkinton.


G. W. KNIGHT

DAN EVANS
In the matter of the inquisition on the body of Dan Evans, deceased, held at Eldorado, Ill., on the 9th day of June A. d. 1907, we the undersigned jurors, sworn to inquire of the death of Dan Evans on oath do find that he came to his death by pistol shot in the hands of Dick Jourdon, self defense.


JOE MONTRUIEDO
Ledford, Ill., August 10, 1907. We the jury in the matter of inquest upon the body of Joe Montruiedo do find that he came to his death by accidental drowning in the pond near the Saline Co. Coal Mine No. 2 on Aug. 9th 1907. Sam Wall, James H. Palmer, Thomas Smith, J. B. Wells, A. O. Simpson, J. W. Taborn.


T. J. SCRANTON
Harrisburg, Ill., August 18, 1907. In the matter of the inquisition upon the body of T. J. Scranton we the jury after hearing the evidence presented do find that he came to his death on a railroad wreck on the big 4--now New York Central--on August 18, 1907, near Ledford Saline Co., Ill. on train #91 going north. Wreck caused by animal being run over. A. S. Mott, J. N. Martin, Elijah Gaskins, Bert Gaskins, Edw. Gaskins.


FINNIS R. C. ANDERSON
St. (Stonefort) Fort, Ill., August 26, 1907. In the matter of inquest upon the body of Finnis R. C. Anderson, we the jury do find that he came to his death on August 26, 1907, by a gun shot wound. The said being in his own hand and that threw insanity and passion he committed the act. Ray Joyner, Noah Blackman, P. M. Duvall, William Renschler, George Newton, J. E. Nichols.


GEORGE PUCKETT
25th day of September, 1907, Ledford, Ill. We, the undersigned, Jurors, sworn to inquire of the death of George Puckett on oath do find that he came to his death by a fall of slate in Saline County Coal Company's mine No. 1 in said county; on Sept. 24 1907, about 2 p.m. of said day; and we further find that the deceased was in due care for his own personal safety at the time he received the injury which caused his death; and we further find that the said Company was negligent in not marking the place where deceased lost his life, as a dangerous place--thereby giving him no warning of the danger he was in; and we further find that said company had failed to prepare a safe retreat from carrs--both loaded and empty for deceased while in the performance of his duties.
