SILVER CREEK CHAPTER
Silver
Creek Chapter is located in Highland, in southern Illinois,
about 35 miles northeast of St. Louis. Our members come
from several nearby towns. We are a small enthusiastic
group comprised of ladies of all ages, backgrounds, and
talents. Our members are active in all aspects of their
community. We take part in various activities and events
that preserve our treasured history and promote it to
today's youth. By participating in today's events,
we work to prepare ourselves and others for the world of
tomorrow. We are an organization that cares about
our country's past, present and future.
Whether
individually or as a group, our chapter works diligently to
achieve the three objects of our National Society:
*Historic Preservation
*Education
*Patriotism
Membership
in the DAR is very rewarding. To become a member, a
woman must be at least 18 years old and be able to prove blood
descent from a person who rendered patriotic service during
the American Revolution. If you think you are eligible, send an email to our registrar. Many of our members are willing to help you
find ways to document your lineage. We're anxious to
meet you and have you be a part of our chapter.
