History of Our Chapter

The Silver Creek DAR Chapter was organized in October 1983 with Mrs. R.F. Kurz as the Organizing Regent.  

The chapter name comes from the local Silver Creek which served as an important source of salt for early area settlers.  The banks of Silver Creek also provided limestone, sandstone and coal.  Today, Silver Creek continues to be important to the area as a primary water source.
