Benjamin H. Parks

Benjamin H. Parks was one of the early settlers of the city of Freeport. Shortly after arriving he built his residence at the corner of Douglas and Cherry Street where he resided until his death in 1899. Benjamin was also a founder of the First Methodist Church and when the church was erected, he hung the bell of the church and was the first to ring it.
