Mrs. J.C. Jensen
Mrs. J.C. Jensen, who died Sunday morning, January 29, 1899,
was born at Howardsville, Illinois, February 9, 1862. She removed to
Minnesota with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.F. Kelly, while young, and was
married in 1882. With her husband she came to Dakota in 1883 and settled in
Oneota township, and removed to Aberdeen South Dakota seven years ago. She
suffered greatly through her illness. Nine children, the eldest being 16 and
the youngest a babe of 3 weeks, besides her parents and two brothers, one a
resident of Aberdeen, lament her loss. She was a member of the M.E. church.
The funeral services were held at the family residence yesterday afternoon,
Rev. Mr. Deeble of Bath, under whose preaching she was converted, conducted
the service and paid a fitting tribute to her life and character. She was an
esteemed friend and neighbor, an unselfish Mother, a devoted wife and an
idolized daughter. She was laid to rest at Riverside cemetery.
