Research

Our policy on requests for research is as follows. 

Mail requests for research will be forwarded to appointed members of the Society. The fee for an initial request will be $10.00, from which $2.00 will go to the Society and $8.00 to the researcher. Fees for further research resulting from the initial requests will be negotiated between the client and the researcher, and will go entirely to the researcher. A return self-addressed stamped envelope should be included with each request. Check should be payable to the Winnebago & Boone Counties Genealogical Society (or W&BCGS).

The initial fee covers about one hour of research, which may be adequate for simple requests or to make a judgement on the scope of material potentially available.
