Good Samaritans Henry Funkhouser Good Samaritans Henry Funkhouser and wife have spent several hot days this summer in White County patching, mending and otherwise repairing broken tombstones. Now Mr. Funkhouser has a problem and hopes someone can help him. He is trying to find the grave of relative John Henry Funkhouser. Some people have told him that this grave is in Salem Cemetery, but he can find no tombstone. He'd like to erect one if he can determine the burial spot. Also, who has the record of who is buried in Salem Cemetery?

Ray and Julia Mills of Norman, Okla. were at my house one afternoon last week. As they had done two years ago, they parked their camper at the Grayville park and were doing research in Edwards and White counties. These people are serious about their genealogy hobby. They are just back from Wales, where they found new information. Ray Mills is a descendant of John Mills, White County surveyor who laid out several villages in this area. John Mills was a Quaker from Maine. Ray and Julia Mills left here to journey eastward, doing genealogy along the way, and will eventually wind up in Maine. They do not plan to be at home in Oklahoma until December.
JOHNSONJOHN SON-Who are the parents of Wyatt Johnson? He was born Sept. 26, 1847 in Phillipstown and died April 18, 1896 at Burnt Prairie. He is buried in Centerville Cemetery. What was the cause of death? Children were Molly, Sarah, Minnie Sago, William Duncan, Robert Elmer, Annie B. Harris and Wyatt.

Thompson THOMPSON--Need death date of Moses Thompson. In the 1870 White County Census, he is listed as caretaker of the poor farm with his family living next door. By 1880, his wife is living with her daughter and son-in-law in Phillips Township. Evidently, Moses Thompson died between 1870 and 1880.
