Found your query at Usgenweb Winnebago County, IL. I found this family as members in First Lutheran Church, Pecatonica, IL. Carl Magnus Peterson born May 13, 1817 in Kumla parish, Ostergotlands lan,SWE w.Johanna Petersdotter born 1812 in Appuna parish, same land. Mathilda Wilhelmina (Brown) born March 28, 1832 in Kumla parishd.Augusta Albertina Peterson born Nov. 2, 1847 in Kumla parish This family emigrated from Kumla parish, Ostergotlands lan (county), Sweden in 1857.

The Swenson Swedish Immigration Research Center in Rock Island have this records on microfilm. I think that microfilm will show some more information.

Kumla and Appuna are located east of the big lake Vattern (two dots over first a) Nearest cities are Mjolby (with two dots over o) and Skanninge (with two dots over a) in Ostergotlands (dots over both o) lan (dots over a). Please let me know if I can help you in any way!
