January 9, 1999, Jerry Srombeck, Superintendent of Greenwood Cemetery, shared his 25 years of experience in managing Rockford's oldest cemetery, He discussed the evolution of the cemetery since 1845, commented on changes occurring in cemetery operations, and described the type of records available to the genealogist.
PURPOSE
To promote the discovering, collecting, indexing, and preserving of valued genealogical resources of Winnebago and Boone Counties.
To encourage publication of county material and family histories
MEETINGS--Normally first Saturday, September through May.
NEWSLETTER--Published bi-monthly, except July
QUERIES--Are free to members; $3.00 for non-members
RESEARCH--May be requested for an initial fee of $10.00 and a SASE; follow-up research fee to be determined on individual basis by researcher.
