BUCHANAN, JOHN, Corunna; a son of David Buchanan and Lydia Tribbey; was born
in Holmes Co., Ohio, July 14, 1826, and settled in this county in 1855. He married, on
Sept. 1, 1853, Miss Emily Burns, of Holmes Co., Ohio; children, Amina, Clara Bell (deceased),
and James. His father was a native of Pennsylvania, his mother of Virginia; they
settled in the country in 1854. Mrs. Buchanan's father was a native of Ireland, and
her mother Virginia. Mr. Buchanan owns a farm of 300 acres of good land. His son
James lives at home. In politics he is a Republican. ("Atlas of DeKalk County, Indiana," published J. H.
