BUCHANAN, LEANDER, Corunna; a son of David Buchanan and Lydia Tribbey; was born in Holmes Co., Ohio, Oct. 3, 1831, and settled in this county with his parents in 1854. He married Miss Clarissa, daughter of Humphrey and Christana Chilcote; they have had two children: Mary V. and Almira E., and one died in infancy. They are members of the M. E. church. Their beautiful home is located about two and one half miles from Fairfield Center, and a half mile from Corunna. Mrs. Buchanan's father and mother were natives of Pennsylvania; came to this county in August, 1847; both were members of the M. E. Church; her father died in 1859; her mother is still enjoying good health, and resides in Corunna; her father was a Republican politically. ("Atlas of DeKalk County, Indiana," published J. H.
