The Ohio Valley Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, will meet this Saturday, October 29, at 10:00 a.m. The meeting will be held in the second floor meeting room of Willard Library, corner of Division and First Avenue in Evansville. We will elect and install new officers at the meeting. Please attend, and bring your calendar. Future meeting dates will be considered. The month's program is entitled: "The Legacy of Thomas Paine, Firebrand of the Revolution" by Compatriot Tom Payne. Visitors are welcome! Lunch will follow Saturday's meeting at Grandy's, corner of First and Diamond avenues, for those interested.

If you're not attending this month's meeting - please e-mail J.D. (J.D.Strouth@PAR-Research.com) and also include (calendar) dates you'd prefer for meetings in 2006. While doing so, please list dates you will be available, and also specify dates that you will be unavailable.

The Chapter participated in the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival Parade on Saturday, October 8th. Marching were J.D. Strouth, Wil Teague, Bob Hall, John West, Chris Myers, Ruth Hall and Becky West. Upcoming Events include: Madisonville, KY Veteran's Day Parade on November 6th, Downtown Evansville Holiday Parade on November 20th, and Boonville's Christmas Parade on December 4th. Also, Owensboro Veteran's Day Parade is coming up. Check the state society's website (INSSAR.org) for information about these and other events!

For the first time in over 10 years, the Ohio Valley Chapter will host The House of Delegates Meeting (first quarterly state meeting for 2006) to be held on January 21, 2006. If you have not traveled outside of Evansville to attend any of these meetings, it's a great opportunity to learn more about our state organization, while enjoying a lunch with other members. The cost of the meal is nominal, and the location will listed in the Hoosier Patriot to be mailed in December.

Dues Notices will be mailed in the near future for 2006. Compatriot Adamson will soon be contacting all chapter members with membership cards and renewal notices for the upcoming year. Our membership has grown in 2005, and members of this chapter participated in many, many events around Evansville, and other parts of Indiana.
