2006      Annual      Awards      Banquet

The Sirloin Stockade was the setting for the Chapter's Annual Awards Banquet held on March 4, 2006. 35 people were on hand as Master of Ceremonies, John West, and Indiana Society SAR president T. Rex Legler II handed out certificates, awards and appreciation gifts.

The Bronze Citizenship Medal and the Outstanding Citizenship Pin were awarded to Nikki Ervin. With some friends as part of a Senior School Project, Nikki organized a program for youths with disabilities called "Up Unbounded Potential" where young people can get together to hear speakers and to have a network with others that might understand their pitfalls in life.

      their daughter, Nikki Ervin.

The group meets weekly at the Rehabilitation Center in Evansville. Nikki has been a speaker at area schools about disabilities including speaking at University of Southern Indiana and she spoke in Indianapolis to the graduating class of the Governor's Planning Council for People with Disabilities.

26 individuals were given Color Guard Participation Certificates. Tom Payne, Rex Legler, Bob Hall and John West were given SAR Program Awards for presenting programs during the Chapter's meetings. Outstanding Citizenship Pins were also given to OVC President J.D. Strouth for his efforts in the Katrina Relief work for his church, Rex Legler for his efforts to

Meeting Notice

The next meeting will be held at 10 a.m. on May 20, 2006 in the Bayard Room, 2nd Floor of Willard Library, Evansville, IN. The program, "Spencer Calvert - Revolutionary War Soldier" will be presented by Peggy Gilkey.
