The Ohio Valley Chapter approved the first Treasury
Audit and first Budget in the chapter's 37-year history!

The Committee conducted a Financial Review and complete Audit for 2001 to 2006. John West, Committee Chairman, discussed details about the income and expenses for that period. No problems were found. Some suggestions to reduce costs were given. Some suggestions to increase revenue was (1) to increase dues; (2) establish dedicated accounts for donations for the Awards Banquet, Color Guard, and the Newsletter; (3) Compatriot West will print any of the pages from the chapter scrapbook for $2 per page; (4) a stipend for Speakers Bureau presentations; and (5) donations for the "Flags Over America" DVD presentation. West explained that "dedicated accounts" meant that monies in these accounts are not budgeted items and cannot be expended without members approval at a meeting and only expended for items that the account is dedicated/set-up to provide.

Ohio Valley Chapter voted to increase local
dues to keep up with postal increases.

The Ohio Valley Chapter voted to increase local dues from $5.50 to an even $8.00 for 2007. The total dues for 2007 (National, State & Local) will increase from $40.50 to $43.00. To soften the impact of the modest increase, West suggested a "Check-Off" (savings) of $2.00 for any member who wishes to receive meeting notices and the chapter newsletter via the Internet. You would just simply check-off on the slip enclosed with the dues notice that you would accept notice by email and send in only $41.00 (plus your email address).

Meeting Notice

The next meeting will be held at 10 AM on November 4, 2006 in the Bayard Room, 2nd Floor of Willard Library, Evansville, IN. The program will be "Justification of the American Revolution" given by Indiana State Society SAR President, Garry Eckard.
