MRS. MARTHA E. CLOY of Garrett, a Former Auburn Resident,
Passes Away Following Illness of Two Days.
Mrs. Martha E. Cloy, former Auburn
resident, died unexpectedly7 at 5 a.m. Thursday at her home in Garrett following
two days’ illness of heart trouble, age 71. Mrs. John Shoudel, 316
West Twentieth street, is a sister of the deceased.
Mrs. Cloy was born Sept. 9, 1869, in Jackson township,
the daughter of John and Susan Osborn (Osbun). She and her husband,
Fred, who died in 1928, lived from 1916 to 1925 in Auburn, Mr. Cloy being
a carpenter by trade. Later they moved just north of Auburn, on the
Ashley road, and then went to Garrett.
Other survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Ida Moughler
of Garrett; one brother, Levi Osburn (Osbun) of Kendallville; two sisters,
Mrs. Elmer Walters, and Mrs. Eli Warstler, both of Jackson township, and
The body was taken to the Dilgard funeral home in
Auburn, where it will remain until Friday morning, when it will be removed
to the residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday
at the Dilgard funeral home, with Rev. Harold L. Dunson of the Garrett Church
of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
