Garrett—Samuel Cook, 99, died Sunday at 5:30 a.m. in Miller’s Merry Manor, Garrett.

     Mr. Cook was a farmer and taught in East Keyser School for 24 years, retiring in 1946.  He formerly lived on county Road 40, rural Auburn, and was a lifetime area resident.  He was a member of Gideons International and the Christian Union Brethren in Christ Church, Garrett.

     He was born Oct. 21, 1895, in Richland Township to the late William and Martha A. (DePew) Cook.

     He married Nettie M. Miller on June 4, 1919, in Garrett and she died July 8, 1991.

     Surviving are two sons, Lee of Auburn and Lorin of Strathroy, Ontario, Canada; two daughter, Helen Eshleman of Fort Wayne and Virginia White of Auburn; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

     He was preceded in death by a sister, Fern Dawson, and a brother, Paul Cook.

     Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in McKee-Miles Funeral Home, Garrett.

     Services will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. in Christian Union Brethren in Christ Church, with calling at the church after 9 a. m.  The Rev. Daryl Climenhaga will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.

     Memorial donations may be made to the church.
