FORMER RESIDENT, EX-CONDUCTOR DIES AT AGE 105
George Copeland, of Brownsburg, a conductor
on the old Wabash Railroad before retiring after 50 years of service, died
Monday in Golden Manor Nursing Home, Brownsburg. He was 105 years old.
Mr. Copeland, born in Bryan, O., was a charter member of the Moose Lodge,
Montpelier, O., and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
He formerly lived here. Surviving are his wife, Gladys; two sons, William,
Montpelier, O., and Frederick, Memphis, Tenn.; a stepson, Harry Yoder, Burbank,
Calif., and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Helen Egbert, Brownsburg. The body
will be brought to the D. O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home, where services
will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, with burial in Linden wood Cemetery. Friends
may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Thursday.
