DeKalb County Indiana Obituary
David DePew

Sept. 28, 1889
David DePew was born in Mrion County, Ohio June 10, 1836,
and died Sept 28th, 1889, aged 53 years, 3 months and 20 days. Deseased with
his parents, in his youthful days, they moved to DeKalb County, Indian where
his boyhood days were spent. About the year 1858, on December 26th he was
joined in holy wedlock with Miss Olive Cook; he subsequently purchased a
farm in Noble County, where he resided until 1881, when he removed to York
township where he lived and prospered until his death. In 1840 the deceased
was baptized in the Baptist church, but afterwards joined the Christian church.
His matrimonies union was blessed with seven children, four of whom, with
the wife, and many relatives and friends, survive and mourn their loss. In
the death of David DePew, the community has lost a good citizen and a kind
neighbor, and he will be greatly missed from the home from which he has gone
never to return. Funeral services was conducted by the Rev. J. M. DeWeese
