Funeral services will be conducted at the Johnson funeral home in Butler Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock for an  87- year-old DeKalb County resident, John S. Dove, who died Friday evening at 8:30 at the Williams’ Convalescent home at Butler.  He had been ill only two days but had been in failing health for several years.  Rev. E. D. Imler, pastor of the Butler Methodist church, will officiate at Monday’s services.  The body will remain at the funeral home until after the services,  Burial will be in Butler cemetery.
     The deceased was born in DeKalb county and resided about 40 years in Butler, He was a railroad section worker.  His wife, the former Della Farner whom he married March  14, 1877, died only two month ago.
     Surviving are the six children, Glenn Dove of Butler, Frank Dove of near Butler, Dolpha Dove, near Coldwater, Mich., Mrs. Frank little, Metz, Ind., Clifton Dove of Battle Creek, Mich. And Mrs. Lucile Traxler of near Butler.  A brother, Albert Dove, of the state of Washington and several grandchildren also survive.
