Dies
After Cutting Throat With Razor
Charles
Eakright, aged 71 years, who made an attempt at suicide about midnight
on
August 18th by slashing his throat with a razor, died Monday afternoon
at the
Dr. Bonnell Souder hospital in Auburn.
The
aged bachelor, said to have made his home at Avilla and at Fort Wayne, stood before a mirror in a bedroom at
the home of Mrs.
Elsworth Eakright in Wilmington
township and cut his throat from one ear to the other in a fit of
despondency.
He
arrived at the Eakright home a day after the burial of his cousin, the
late
Elsworth Eakright, former trustee of Wilmington
township. He worked at one time for Mr. Eakright on the farm.
There
was little hope of recorvery for the aged man from the first. In
cutting
his throat he nearly severed the larynx.<>
