Here is another obituary found in my husband's grandfather Marshall's old
suitcase. There is no date on it but she died in 1933 in Auburn, IN.
CANCER CLAIMS LIVE AFTER LONG ILLNESS
Mrs. Martha Ellen Elson, Mother of Harve Elson of Auburn, Dies
at age of 75 years.
Mrs. Martha Ellen Elson, residing five miles south of
Auburn in Jackson township, died Monday afternoon at 5 o'clock as the result
of cancer at the age of 75 years. Mrs. Elson had been confined to her
bed for twelve weeks.
The widow of Thomas F. Elson who died twenty years ago,
the deceased resided on the farm with two of her sons, Lester and Irvin.
There are three other sons, Harve B. Elson of 209 East Nineteenth street,
a member of the Auburn city council, George Elson of Fort Wayne and Frank
Elson of LaOtto. A daughter, Mrs. Arthur Dancer resides in Fort Wayne.
There are also seven granchildren and one great grandchild. Mrs. Elson
is the last survivor of her family.
The deceased was a member of Meese Chapel church located
in Jackson township.
The funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon
at 3 0'clock DST from the John R. Clark funeral home in Auburn. Rev.
Walter Hollopeter will officiate, assisted by Dr. Manfred C. Wright, pastor
of the First M.E. church of Auburn and burial will be made in Woodlawn cemetery.
Note: From research I have had done records show she is buried
in Cedar Chapel cemetery. Also she is a daughter of Samuel and Mary
Cornell.
