George
T. Fuller Dies at Age 71
George
T. Fuller, 71, a lifelong resident of Butler,
but more recently of North Orlando, Fla., died Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. at the Florida hospital, Orlando,
where he had been a patient for several weeks.
Memorial
services were held Monday in Florida
ad the
body was returned to Butler
Tuesday afternoon.
Mr.
Fuller retired from the Butler postal
service in
1960, since which time he and Mrs. Fuller have spent their winters at
their
home in North Orlando, and their summers at their home in Wilmington
township. Mr. Fuller also
had been a sports writer for the Butler Record-Herald for about 15
years.
He
was born April 2, 1900 at Denver,
Indiana in George T. and
Laura
Fetrowe Fuller. He moved to Butler
with his family when a small boy.
He
and Ruth Eakright were married on June 29, 1929. He is survived
by the
widow, three brothers, Ralph and Oscar of Toledo and Robert of R. 1
Butler. Also two sisters; Mrs. Lillie Trobridge of Toledo
and Mrs. Emily Anders of Orlando.
Mr.
Fuller was always active in community affairs, having served one and
one-half
terms as mayor of North Orlando.
He
was a member of the Community United Methodist Episcopal Church of
Castleberry,
Fla., Eagles and K. of P. lodges of Butler.
Services
were held
Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Johnson funeral home in Butler with the Rev. Donald Steltz,
pastor of
the Butler United Methodist church officiating. Burial followed
in
Woodlawn cemetery.
