GARRETT -- Edna M. Getts, 72, died Tuesday afternoon at Miller's Merry Manor, Garrett. She formerly lived on Harrison Street.
Mrs. Getts was born Dec. 2, 1913 in Butler to Albert and Myrtle (Hansen) King. She was married Jan. 20, 1934 in Garrett to Estelle Getts, who survives.
Other survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Joyce) Parker, of Pleasant Lake, and Faith Weicht, of Tulsa, Okla.; four sons, Don, Maurice, Larry and James, all of Garrett; three sisters, Mrs. Laura Fry, of Auburn, and Mrs. Bessie Witt and Mrs. Lois Hungerford, both of Fort Wayne; 19 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Getts was a homemaker, and a licensed practical nurse who served for 25 years at Sacred Heart Hospital, Garrett.
She was a member of the Garrett United Methodist Church, Garrett Senior Citizens and Project CARE.
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Feller Funeral Home, Waterloo. The Rev. Ronald Bowman, formerly of the Garrett church and presently with the First United Methodist Church of Bourbon, Ind., will officiate. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials to the Garrett chapter of Project CARE are preferred.
