FORMER BAILIFF OF CIRCUIT COURT DIES

        William H. Hoagland, 76, Well Known Citizen of Auburn, Died Saturday After an Illness of Two Years
        William Henry Hoagland, 76, a well known citizen of Auburn, died Saturday noon from diabetes after an illness of two years duration, during most of the time he was confined to his home.
        Mr. Hoagland was appointed bailiff of the DeKalb Circuit court about eleven years ago, and served in this capacity until he was forced to retire on account of an infection which set in resulting in the amputation of one of his legs.  During the time he served as bailiff he made many friends among the members of the bar and others having business in the court, where he was always courteous and accommodating.
        Surviving are the widow and one sister, Mrs. Ella Striker, of Summerville, N. J.  Funeral services were held from the late home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock.  Rev. Hubart F. Craven, pastor of the Auburn Presbyterian church officiating.  Burial took place in Woodlawn cemetery in Auburn.
