Funeral Services for Auburn Resident will be Held at Dilgard Funeral Home
Funeral services for Alpheus McClellan will
be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock from Dilgard Bros. Funeral home. With
Rev Jos. Ferguson officiating and burial will be made in Woodlawn cemetery.
The body, now at the residence at 128 East Madison Street, will remain there
until removed to the funeral home for the service.
Mr. McClellan died Friday afternoon from cancer of the
stomach. He had been in poor health since six years ago when he underwent
an operation. He had been employed for many years by the Auburn Sand and
Mr. McClellan was born on January 6, 1875 in Jackson
Township. On November 3, 1895 he was united in marriage with Clara Cobbler
of Jackson township-. She with 4 children survive, Harry McClellan of West
Ninth street, Terry McClellan of Fairfield township, Mrs. Margaret Stahl
of Fairfield township and Mrs. Hazel Geisinger of West Ninth Street.
There are two brothers and a sister, Andrew McClellan
of Steubenville, Steuben County, William McClellan of near Bluffton and Mrs.
Della Hanes of Jackson township. Ten grandchildren survive.
The deceased was a member of the Church of God.
