John J. McClellan, 80, Route 1, Angola, died Sunday at 4:50 a.m. in DeKalb Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient three days. He had been ill for five weeks.
Mr. McClellan was born in DeKalb County on Jan 3, 1895 to Andrew and Elizabeth Hanes McClellan of Ashley. He had lived at his home on Silver Lake the past six years.
He retired from the Auburn City Street Department, and was former employee of the Auburn Auto and Auburn Rubber Companies. He was a member of the Angola Moose Lodge.
He married his wife, the former Gladys Porter, in 1972. She Survives.
Also surviving are three sons and a daughter; LeRoy, of Ashley; John Jr. of Auburn; DeWayne, Corunna; and Mrs. Harlan Maxwell, Sanderson, Fla.
four stepchildren survive, including; Eugene Porter, Angola, Richard Porter, Kentucky; Mrs. Wendell Schricker, Angola; and Mrs. Ivan Foster, Waterloo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Dilgard and Cline Funeral Home. Rev. George Schuette will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
