Well Known Indiana Avenue Resident Finally Answered the
Services Will be held from Christian
He Suffered from Cancer
For More than two years—
Funeral Services Will be Held From Christian Church Sunday.
Silas McGowan, a resident of this city for sixteen
years and quite well known in this vicinity, died at his home on Indiana
avenue Thursday afternoon, at three o’clock, after suffering from cancer
for more than two years. He was sixty-eight years of age.
Though he has been quite ill for many months, he
was not required to take to his bed until a week ago. Besides a grief
stricken widow, three children survive to mourn their sad loss—Melvin, Oakland
City; William, Ritchel, Ind. And Mrs Jennie Walters residing near Auburn.
The funeral services will be held from the Christian church tomorrow morning
at 10:30 o’clock, and interment will be made at Woodlawn cemetery.
