Ray E. Means

Ray E. Means, 80, died at 5:25 a.m. Sunday of complications
at DeKalb Memorial Hospital. He had been ill one year and had been hospitalized
two weeks.
Mr. Means, a farmer, had resided in Leo for almost
a year and had previously lived in St. Joe.
He was born in Allen County Sept. 20, 1893 to Loren
and Flora (Haifley) Means. June 19, 1915 he married Victoria Wilmot
in Spencerville.
Mr. Means was a member of the St. Mark’s Lutheran
Church, St. Joe, Concord Lodge F & AM, Scottish Rite and the Spencerville
Chapter of OES.
Surviving are the wife; three sons, Howard, Leo,
Kenneth, Auburn, and Gerald, Covington, Tenn; two brothers, Walter, Ft. Wayne,
and Stanley, St Joe; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Baidinger
and Walter Funeral Home, Spencerville. Rev. Dennis J. Kuchera, pastor of
St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Spencerville, will officiate.
Calling is after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Masonic
memorial services are at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial is in White City Cemetery.
