St Joe—Stanley G. Means, 78, of St. Joe  Saturday at 8:45 p.m. in DeKalb Memorial Hospital.  He had been hospitalized two weeks.
     He was a farmer and a resident of St. Joe for 70 years.
     He was born July 12, 1904.  His parents were Loren and Flora Bell (Haifley) Means.
     On July 20, 1935 he married Rose Smith in Benton Harbor, Mich.  His wife was a former schoolteacher in Auburn.  She preceded him in death Nov. 28, 1982.  Nieces and nephews survive.
      Mr. Means was a member of Auburn First United Methodist Church, Concord Lodge 556  F & AM of Spencerville, and the DeKalb County Historical Society.
     Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home, Spencerville.  The Rev. Wilbur Yates will officiate.  Burial will be in White City Cemetery, Spencerville.
      Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 2-9 p.m.  Memorials to Auburn First United Methodist Church are preferred.
