     Paul M. Miller, 96, of Ashley, died at 7 a.m. Sunday in Miller’s Merry Manor in Garrett.

     He was born Nov. 23, 1898, in DeKalb County to Clyde and Mae (Carnahan) Miller.  On Dec. 22, 1919, he married Effie Hilkey, who preceded him in death April 15, 1989.

     Mr. Miller was a retired farmer.

     Surviving are three daughters, Betty Miller Bowser of Churubusco, Donna Miller Northway of Fairfield Glade, Tenn., and Shirley Miller Kugler of fort Wayne; two sons, Jim Miller of Pleasant Lake, and Kenneth Miller of Hardenville, Mo.; a sister, Annabelle Campbell of Fremont; a brother, Donald Miller of Big Rapids, Mich.; 20 grandchildren’ 34 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

     Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Johnson Funeral Home in Hudson, with Michael Booher officiating.  Burial will be in Cedar Chapel Cemetery, rural Garrett.

     Visitation is from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

     Preferred memorials are to the charity of the donor’s choice.
