1903, August 23
Artie Mae Watson Osbun, daughter of Aaron and Tabitha
Watson was born in DeKalb County, Ind., Oct 25, 1882 departed Aug., 25, 1903.
Aged 20 years and 10 months. She was united in marriage to Henry Osbun
Nov. 14, 1901 by Rev. W. L. Meese. One infant preceded her to the spirit
world. She leaves a husband, father, mother, one brother and one sister
and a host of friends to mourn her departure. She gave her heart to
God at the age of 12 and again renewed her covenant with God a few years
ago. She was a member of the M. E. church of Grove Bethel, She
lived a beautiful life until death. In her last hours of suffering
she would frequently praise the Lord and talk of being ready to go.
In her life she was kind to all, a good daughter, a living wife and a noble
spirit in giving her heart to God. She became the child of immortality
whose robes are divine and whose destiny is Heaven. She has left us
and we trust she has entered the King’s palace with rejoicing to be present
with the king of glory forever.
The funeral service held at the First M. E. Church,
Auburn, at 3 o’clock Thursday Aug. 27 were by Rev. L. M. Krider, and the
interment at Woodlawn Cemetery was conducted by G. S. McCord.
