Mrs. Effie Ellen Richey widow of the late Ozro Richey, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Tom Wood, west of town, at 10 p.m. Thurs. evening.  Mrs. Richey had been ill for several weeks following a stroke, and had been in a serious condition all that time.
    Deceased was born on Apr. 28, 1884, and had spent her entire life in this vicinity.
    Funeral services were held from the Swift funeral chapel on Sun. afternoon conducted by Rev. A.P. Benjamin, pastor of the Hamilton Church of Christ.  Burial in Hamilton cem.
    Surviving are two sons, Claude of near Kendallville, and Harold living on the home place west of town, one daughter, Mrs. Eva Wood of Hamilton and many other relatives and friends.
