Susan Hamman Richie

Hamilton News: Feb. 14, 1908
Mrs. Susan Richie was born Oct. 14,
1854, and died Feb. 8, 1908, aged 54 years, 8 months and 6 days. She
was the daughter of Mr. John and Mrs. Anna Hamman. On Mar. 23, 1871
she was married to Scott Bowman. To them was born one son, H.S. Bowman,
of Chicago, IL. After the death of Mr. Bowman she was married Oct.
18, 1877, to Mr. Adam Richey. To this union were born two sons and
one daughter. She was converted in the M.E. church, but never united
with any church.
The funeral sermon was preached by R.W. Stancill, minister
of the Hamilton Church of Christ, in the Hamilton U.B. church, on Feb. 11,
at 11:45 a.m. from Pa 90:10, 12; 1 Cor. 15:20, 35, 38, after which the remains
were laid to rest in the Hamilton cem.
Mrs. Richie was a devoted wife, kind mother and pleasant
neighbor. She tried to observe the golden rule and, by so doing made
many worm friends. She leaves to mourn her death, a husband, mother,
three sons, five grandchildren, three whole, and three half brothers, C.P.,
Hamilton, Truman, Dan, Sim and Frank Hamman. May God bless the loved
ones who mourn her departure and comfort them during their hours of deep
grief and sorrow.
