FLORENCE, S.C---Enno H Richter, 87, died Wednesday, Jan.
17, 2001, at 9:20 a.m. in Commander Nursing Center in Florence, where he
had been a patient for the last month.
He retired in 1973 as a machine operator at General Electric
Co. in Fort Wayne, with 31 years of service. He had been a resident
of Florence for over two years. He moved to Fort Wayne from Missouri
as a youth and spent most of his life in Allen County. He and his wife
spent winters in Orange City, Fla., for many years.
Mr. Richter was born May 6, 1913, in Whittenberg, Mo.,
to Joseph and Bertha (Vogel) Richter.
He married Eleanor H. Hollopeter on April 3, 1936, in
Fort Wayne. She died Jan. 12, 1992.
Surviving him are a son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and
Barbara Joan Richter of Auburn; his companion, Norma Austin of Florence;
three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one stepgrandchild, and a stepgreat-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one son, Larry Richter; a
great-grandson, Cory Lee; a stepgreat-granddaughter, Melinda Rybolt; and
Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Sheets Funeral
Home, Churubusco, with the Rev. Lane Burgland of Faith Lutheran Church officiating.
Burial will be in Eel River Cemetery, south of Churubusco.
Calling is Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the funeral
Memorials are to the American Cancer Society.
