The obituary of Mrs. Clarissa Rosenberry
Clarissa Ann Rosenberry, daughter of
Galispa and Rebecca Ann David, was born in Hoble Co. OH, Nov. 28, 1861 and
died at the home of her son Arthur Rosenberry, seven miles south-west of
Butler, Sept. 16, 1926, at the age of 64 years, 9 months and 18 days.
She was married to Oliver Rosenberry June 29, 1877, to
this union 12 children were born, five sons, seven daughters. One daughter
died in 1919. The husband and 11 children still survive. The
family lives in this immediate neighborhood, except one son, J.H. Rosenberry
of Huntington. One sister, two half-brothers and 18 grandchildren also
survive besides many other relatives and friends. Her mother Rebecca
Ann Rosenberry died in May 1926, at the age of 85 years. She was converted
in her girlhood days and has been faithful to the service of the Lord’s house
all her life, always attending church and Sabbath school whenever able to
do so. In later years she has been in failing health and not able to
go much of the time.
She was true Christian woman, a kindhearted mother and
always loved her home and family with her whole heart. She was well
and favorably known and to know her was but to love her.
Funeral services were conducted from the Jerusalem U.B.
church Sat. at 10:30. Rev. G.H. Trinkle in charge. Burial in
the Butler cem.
