Arthur E. Rowe, 74, of Route 3, Wolcottville, died at 10:48 a.m. Tuesday in McCray Memorial Hospital in Kendallville.
born in Sedan, Oct. 15, 1904, he was the son of Elzie and Nellie (Casselman) Rowe. His mother survives in Garrett. He married Leona Bordner May 21, 1932 in Allegan, Mich. She also survives.
Mr. Rowe had resided in the Wolcottville area for the past 37 years coming from Garrett. He was a retired farmer and factory worker.
Survivors besides his wife and mother are six daughters, Mrs. William (Marian) Meyer and Mrs. Iris Faurote, both of Fort Wayne; Mrs. Kathryn Crance of Huntertown; Mrs. John (Donna) Seigel of Ligonier; Mrs. Glen (Pat) Barr of Kendallville; and Mrs. James (Darlene) Howard of Louisville, Ky.; a son, Jack Rowe of Louisville, three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Stemen of Auburn; Mrs. Irene Getts of Garrett; and Mrs. Rebecca Keister of Wolcottville; three brothers, Eugene Rowe of Fort Wayne; Elmer Rowe of Fort Wayne; and Cecil Rowe of Cedar Lake; 33 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Two daughters and one son preceded him in death.
Funeral will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Berhalter-Hutchins Funeral Home, with Rev. Kenneth J. Gerike officiating.
Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
