of Mrs. Rowe, who died at her home near Hessecastle, took place here on Thursday.
Mrs Rowe died of typhoid fever, this being the second death in the family
of the same disease. Three more are down, one with little hopes of
her recovery. Mrs. Rowe had been sick nine weeks when she died. The
funeral was a quiet one as three others in the family were critically ill
at the time, two of them unconscious and did not know their mother was dead.
The county health officer visited them on Friday and after putting them under
quarantine he had men to take up the carpets and had the walls papered.
New carpets were bought and all done to stamp out the disease. Mrs.
Dice, of Auburn, is nursing them and today they are reported better.
