Thelmer W. Rowe, 72, rural Hudson, near Helmer, died at 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the Garrett Community Hospital of complications. He had been in failing health one year and hospitalized four days.
Mr. Rowe was born March 7, 1902 in DeKalb County. He married Harriett B. Holman Sept. 29, 1923. A lifetime resident of the area, he was a retired machinist and a 30-year employe, of Flint & Walling in Kendallville.
Surviving are his wife, Harriett; one son, Jackie W. Rowe, Route 1, Cree Lake, Kendallville; one brother Wilson S. Rowe, Route 5, Long Lake, Valparaiso; one granddaughter, Mrs. Byron (Cindy) Ehret, Kendallville; one half-brother, Guy Miller, Route 1, Pleasant Lake; and one half-sister, Mrs. Earl (Delia) Husselman, Route 4, Auburn.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Kistler Funeral Home, Hudson. Reverend Lee R. Bracey of the Corunna Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery, DeKalb County.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. No date. He died, according to family files, on Oct. 13, 1974.
