     Waterloo—A memorial service for Maurice E. “Gene” Stafford, 77, will take place Sunday at 1 p.m. in Victory Baptist Church of Waterloo.
     Mike Sassanella will officiate, Burial will be in Waterloo Cemetery.
     There will be no calling. Feller Funeral Home of Waterloo, is handling arrangements.
    Mr. Stafford died Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn.
     He worked as a printer for Waterloo Printing.  He served in the U.S. Marine corps during World War 11.
     He was a member of the Waterloo Lions Club, the Waterloo post of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion Post 97 in Auburn, the DeKalb County Merit board and the Masonic Lodge.
     He was born Aug. 8, 1925, in Auburn to Frank and Dora (Shields) Stafford.  They preceded him in death.
     He married Annabelle Donaldson on April 21, 1946, in Auburn.  She died June 5, 2000.
     Surviving are three sons and two daughter-in-law, Rick of Goshen, Reggie and Susanne of Story Lake and Mike and Cindy of Auburn; one daughter, Karen Badman of Kendallville; two brothers, Bob of Auburn and Walter of Fort Wayne; one sister, Ruth Lee of New Haven; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
     One son, Randy, preceded him in death.
