Almira Teutsch Dies at Age of 97 Years
Resided in Butler and Community Most of Her Life
Mrs. Almira Teutsch, one of the oldest residents of DeKalb county, died suddenly last Saturday at the country home of Mrs. Clara McCague, three miles west of Butler, at the advanced age of 97 years.
Mrs. Teutsch had been enjoying her usual health, and ate a hearty meal a few hours before her death.
Mrs. Teutsch was born on May 16, 1851 near Columbus, Ohio.  She moved to Indiana at the age of five years, and has lived almost continuously in Butler and vicinity since that time.
She was married to Christian Teutsch on May 8, 1883, and they resided on a farm west of Butler until Mr. Teutsch's death in 1925.  The only child, Mrs. Fedalous Gallagher preceded her mother in death on November 27, 1925.
A short time later the old farm home was sold and she moved to West Oak street in Butler where she resided until, due to poor health and advanced age, it became necessary to close her home and go to the Carpenter Convalescent home for about two years.  On August 2, 1946, she was taken to the home of Mrs. Clara McCague, west of Butler, where she was cared for until she passed away.
While she is survived by no immediate relatives to mourn her going away, she will be missed by a host of friends and neighbors, and her smile will long be remembered.
