     Spencerville—Erving Roy Vendrely, 93, died Monday evening, Nov. 4, 2002, at Woodview Heathcare in Fort Wayne.
     A self-employed builder and contractor, he retired as superintendent of construction for East Allen County Schools.
     He lived in Spencerville most of his life, but moved to Fort Wayne to live with his daughter, Nancy, after his wife died.
     He was born Sept. 24, 1909, in Payne, Ohio, to Delbert and Lillian (White) Vendrely.
     He married Dorothy Mae Hursh on Dec. 17, 1932 in Auburn. She died April 13, 1993.
     Surviving are a son, Bud Vendrely of Spencerville; a daughter, Nancy Vendrely of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren, nine great-grand-children, and a sister, Naonto Sylvester of Park Rapids, Minn.
     He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wallace and Ernest Vendrely, and a sister, Iris Fisher.
     Private family services will be held Saturday. Burial will be in Leo Memorial Park Cemetery in Leo.
     Calling is Friday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home in Spencerville. Memorials are to the Spencerville Volunteer Fire Department.
