JOHN L. WAGONER DIED AT HIS HOME AT AGE OF 93

Funeral services for John L. Wagner, 83, who resided southeast of Ashley for 57 years, were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Michael’s church, north of Waterloo.

The pastor of the St. Patrick’s Catholic church in Ft. Wayne, Rev. Edward Miller, officiated at the services with burial following in the church cemetery.

The rosary was recited at the Swank funeral home in Ashley at 8:30 p.m. Monday.

Mr. Wagner died at his home at 5 p.m. Saturday from a complication of diseases. He had been semi-invalid for the past couple of years.

He was born in Hancock county, Ohio, on February 15, 1880, and was the son of Peter and Margaret Wagner.

Mr. Wagner was leader of the Wagner’s Old Time Fiddlers group for many years and was a retired farmer.

He and Mary (May) Miller were married Feb. 19, 1904 and he was a member of the St. Michael’s church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Robert Wagner of Waterloo and Norbert Wagner of Adrian, Michigan, twins, and Lennus Wagner of Waterloo; a daughter, Mrs. Wayne Van Pelt of Fremont, and 13 grandchildren.
