Mildred I. Wagoner

(February 21, 1906-December 16, 1979)


Mildred I. Wagoner, 73, died Sunday afternoon, December 16, in Community Hospital, Indianapolis.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) in the chapel of the Wilson Funeral Home, Hamilton, with Reverend James W. Rhine officiating. Interment will follow in the Hamilton Cemetery.

Mrs. Wagoner was born February 21, 1906, at Fremont, the daughter of Joseph and Estella Josephine (Waley) Wesley. See possible correction below.

She was united in marriage to Howard Wagoner on October 4, 1928. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1973.

A retired school teacher and former resident of the Hamilton and Pleasant Lake areas, Mrs. Wagoner taught for a number of years in the Ashley and Fairfield Center schools in DeKalb County.

She was a member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Gretchen) Baker, of Fremont; Mrs. Leon (Evelyn) Burch, of Crooked Lake; and Mrs. Richard (Brenda) Sanders, of New Palestine; a son, James Wagoner, of Oakview, California; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Two sisters and a brother have preceded her in death. Helen Dotts died in March 1974; Ethel Koch, died in February, 1977; and the brother Herschel Gill, died in August, 1979.
