STROKE IS FATAL TO WIDOW
Mrs. Jennie Belle Walters Dies at Home of Daughter, Mrs.
William Harnish, Near Auburn, Funeral Thursday.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jane Belle Walters, age
72, will be held at the Church of the Nazarene in Auburn Thursday afternoon
at 2 o’clock, Rev. George Brannon, pastor will officiate and burial will
be in Woodlawn cemetery.
Mrs. Walters passed away at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. William Harnish, six miles east of Auburn at 10:30 Tuesday morning.
She had been ill for three weeks, a stroke of paralysis causing death.
She was born in DeKalb County on April 11, 1871, and resided in the county
all her life. Mrs. Walters was a member of the Church of the Nazarene
in Auburn.
The deceased was married to Lewis Walters, who passed
away on April 6, 1925. Survivors include the following children:
Mrs. Harnish, Ted Walters of 201 North Indiana Avenue, Auburn, Melvin Walters
of Route No. 1, Auburn, Mrs. Melvina Steward of 334 West Fourth Street, Auburn,
Harold Walters of West 2nd Street, Auburn; one brother, Melvin McGowan of
Princeton, Ind.; 23 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The body was taken to the Gerig Funeral Home and
will be taken to the home of a daughter, Mrs. Melvina Steward Wednesday morning
to remain until the time of the funeral.
