The Purpose of the Genealogical Society of Henry County, Indiana, Inc., is to:
- Promote genealogy and family history
- Collecting, preserving, and disseminating genealogical knowledge and information
- Encouraging public access to and preservation of records of genealogical value
- Promoting ethical standards in genealogical research and practices.
TWO NEW BOOKS! The South Mound Mausoleum will be available January 2009. The cost of the book is $45.00. This book has pictures of the Mausoleum, genealogies, obituaries, marriage and birth records, some death records and information found at funeral homes in Henry County. Another book, Legion Hill Book, is available for pre-order before February at the cost of $25.00. This book will have as much information as can be found on the people buried in this cemetery. - Legion Hill Cemetery GSHC is involved with touching up stones at the Legion Hill Cemetery.Some of the stones are very hard to read because they are engraved and the letters were not painted or the stones have lost their color. The society is asking for donations to cover the cost of paint, brushes and other items to do this project. Contact Lola at lljsnyder@verizon.net for more information.
