Condition:
This cemetery is fenced, mowed, and maintained. The current homeowner
of #5430 reset the stones a few years ago and has been maintaining it ever
since. He said that the stones had been scattered and he reset them mostly
in a row. There were few slotted bases to guide placement. Therefore,
most stones are likely in the wrong location. The Davis family’s founder in
Indiana was Evan Davis, Sr. (wife Rebecca), both buried in the cemetery.
His son Evan Jr and wife Lucy are also buried there. In the 1878 Atlas, there
is an illustration of the farm and residence of David Wesley Davis, as well
as a biography of him. (David was the son of Evan Sr.) Two of David’s
children, Charles W. and Mary L. are also buried in the cemetery.
