Condition:
This cemetery is township owned and is mowed by the Sharps, who live just
east of the cemetery. It was restored in 2005 by Cascade Junior High
students, under the direction of Jessica Felix. The Sharps also worked
to restore the cemetery. Before restoration, the cemetery was in bad condition.
Many stones had fallen and were lying in piles. Stack stones had fallen
or were leaning considerably. During restoration, many bases were
found underground which allowed the tablets to be placed in their original
locations. All stones were thoroughly cleaned, repaired, and reset.
It is a beautiful example of a restored pioneer cemetery.
Photos of individual stones have been entered into
Find-A-Grave
