Laura Fern Batson, 83, Route 1, Straughn, died unexpectedly early last Sunday morning at Henry County Hospital in New Castle.

A retired farmer, she had lived in Henry County most of her life.

Survivors include three sons, Elmer Anderson, Greenfield, Russell Batson, Route 1 Staughn and Roscoe Batson, Staughn, one daughter, Mrs. Robert Huffman, Route 1 Staughn, one sister, Ethel Hopkins, Knightstown, one brother Elmer Collins, Kennard, and 14 grandchildren. Her husband, one son, one sister and two brothers preceded her in death.
